Black & Decker (UK Sales & Marketing Team)

Black & Decker’s “Consumer” Product Range is aimed at the DIY and home user.

EMEA-wide product development and strategic marketing activity is formulated within our central European Marketing Organisation (EMO). The UK Consumer Team then ensures tailoring and implementation for the UK market.

We focus on five key business areas: Powertools, Accessories, Outdoor Products, Home Products and Automotive products with teams responsible for Trade/Brand Marketing and Sales – all supported by other business functions. It is an exciting and diverse business.

To ensure the widest possible distribution, we work with different retailers across the five business areas. Our customer base is wide and varied, local and pan-European - from large DIY superstores, to small independent retailers.
How do we operate?
To ensure success, our teams are involved at all stages of the sales and marketing process.

Tailored programmes are developed with our customers to deliver mutual growth. Working with them, the European Marketing Teams and Finance, we put initiatives into place such as; new product launches, range extensions, promotional programmes, in-store point of sale and merchandising.

To maximise sales, attention is given to merchandising and product positioning in-store and to communicating our innovative product benefits. Our Field Merchandising Team ensures high-level execution of these plans at store level.

Once these programmes are agreed, timely and first-rate delivery is imperative - our retailers must have the products available in-store. We work closely with our own teams as well as those of our customer, to ensure smooth running of the process.

In addition to developing sales programmes, building the Black & Decker brand through a range of marketing activities such as TV advertising, is crucial. Support from Public relations activity, ensures that Black & Decker’s UK exposure has maximum impact and positive effect.

With market-leading positions, there is always a competitor who wants some of your market share. We challenge ourselves continuously to be ahead of the game. Through consumer-focused programmes, we drive consumers into the retailers' outlets and ensure we deliver sales and margin growth for both our retailer partners and Black & Decker.
