Business Areas - Information Technology Welcome to Information Technology at Black & Decker - a truly global organisation - in which our Europe, Middle East and African division (EMEA) forms a vital part.The EMEA IT group is primarily based in the UK at our European Headquarters in Slough, Berkshire, with small representation in our European markets and manufacturing plants. We cover all areas of IT - from the technical and communications infrastructure, that support our daily commercial and manufacturing operations, through to the analysis, development and implementation of world-class business support systems such as SAP, Business Warehouse and Manugistics. Information Technology touches every area of the business at all levels across the globe, so the roles we offer are always challenging and demanding. Black & Decker’s IT division constantly looks to place the “best” people into all parts of the organisation. Typically, we look for individuals with relevant experience but personal characteristics are important - especially the drive to be an enthusiastic self-starter with a strong desire to improve our business. IT operates in a truly multi-cultural environment, where language skills are desirable, as is the ability to liaise with many different levels and cultures within the organisation. A degree is normally required (although not necessarily in an IT subject). |
