IT/Supply Chain The ProgrammeBlack & Decker have recently introduced this new and exciting two-year programme. Graduates will spend one year working in each of these vital business areas based at our European Headquarters in the UK. Why Combine Supply Chain and IT? Supply Chain has a critical role in meeting and exceeding our customers' expectations and driving forward our business growth. IT tools are key enablers for our Supply Chain to function in a more effective, streamlined and competitive way. Opportunities in both areas will be diverse and challenging and will prepare you for a role in either of these functions after programme completion. |
What skills should I have? For an initial role in Supply Chain - a relevant 2:1 Degree in Manufacturing and or Logistics would provide an excellent background. Knowledge of/some exposure to Supply Chain, Demand and Supply Planning is preferred. Microsoft Access skills are an advantage. For an initial role in IT – a relevant 2:1 Degree in an IT-related field is an advantage. Experience of using PL-SQL in a Unix environment is required – preferably with a commercial or manufacturing focus and knowledge of Microsoft Access skills. Full training will be given on all applications in addition to graduate programme development. |
We also place emphasis on the following skills: Excellent communication, language fluency, confidence, team working, analytical thinking, commercial acumen, positive attitude, attention to detail and drive to achieve Opportunities Success is measured through results and outstanding performance. We will do all we can to “market” you and your achievements. We anticipate that upon programme completion, you will be offered a responsible position. There is no guarantee of a job offer, but this is a genuine programme designed to find our future potential. How do I apply? The timing of the application process varies annually. Please look under current vacancies. You can also register your interest if we do not have a “live” campaign. |
