Our amazing #TeamSlighean in North Lanarkshire are now on the lookout for caring, compassionate and flexible colleagues to join them as a Support Practitioner on a permanent basis.


The Role

The main purpose of your role will be to support an individual within his own home working in a person-centred way with all aspects of his daily living. This will include shopping, finances, cooking, housework and personal care. It is an exciting time to join the team as you will be supporting this young man transition from a stay in hospital into his own home. No two days will be the same, with a passion for GBX classics and Celine Dione to enjoying some self care there is always something different to be doing. Having an empathic and supportive approach whilst understanding challenging behaviours will allow for hours of fun in this supportive role where you can make a real difference.

As the people we support has their own mobility car, we will need you to have a full UK driving licence with at least 1 years experience on the roads.


About You

At Cornerstone, we don't recruit on experience and qualifications; we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team! We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need to build your career within the Health & Social Care sector. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!

All we’ll need you to bring is: -

  • A caring attitude and approach
  • Good communication skills
  • A positive approach to learning
  • An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
  • Confidence in the use of computers.

Having a full UK manual driving licence would be beneficial but not essential.

Shift Patterns

As we are dedicated to providing tailored support to each individual, the normal rolling rota for this service would be typical shifts of 10am-10pm followed by a sleep over or a waking night shift.
