Our team and the individuals you'll support
As a relief colleague, you'll play an important part in our team, ensuring that we still provide the best care and support possible during times of staff training, holidays and absence.
You'll become part of a dedicated team who supports individuals who are autistic to live in their own homes. Their homes are all situated in the same housing support complex, so there will be no travel to other support locations while on shift.
You'll build a genuine relationship with each individual and be part of moments that really matter; whether it's providing support to cook a meal, achieve a goal, try something new or just feel understood.
In addition to supporting the individuals with all aspects of their daily living, you'll also support them with their hobbies and interests too, including football, going to the gym, walking groups, karaoke, arts and crafts and even going on trips away for the night.

About you
Although it would be great if you already have knowledge and understanding of Autism, here at Cornerstone, we recruit on Values and transferrable skills; we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team. We'll pay you for your training and will even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!
What we need you to bring:-
- A caring attitude and approach
- Good at communication skills
- An understanding of the important of following guidelines and routines
- A positive approach to learning
- Confidence in the use of computers
- The ability to cook
- Confidence in going in the water as swimming will be a regular activity
Shift Patterns
As we're dedicated to providing around the clock support tailored to the needs of each individual, shift patterns range from early shifts, late shifts, weekends, sleepovers, waking nights and public holidays.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
