The Role

We have an opportunity for Support Workers to join us to provide support throughout Cardiff which will enable service users to develop the key skills to achieve positive progression and to develop the skills to settle in the community. As part of our relief support team, you can work days, evenings, weekends or nights, giving you the freedom and flexibility to arrange work around your life, throughout various projects in the area.

The role will be varied and will involve providing housing related support to vulnerable people to progress to independent living, prevent homelessness and sustain their tenancies, change negative behaviour, maintain their health and wellbeing, and make appropriate choices.

As well as encourage the clients to deal with issues that may threaten their progression, especially with matters regarding behaviour, substance misuse, health and wellbeing, budgeting skills, benefits, life skills and household management.


What skills and experience do I need?

To be a great Support Worker, you don’t always need previous experience or qualifications. What you do need is energy, enthusiasm, integrity and to treat people with dignity and respect.

You need to be reliable because people are depending on you. You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills.
