Salary : £18,589 pro rata
Department : Support Services - Western Bay/Powys

What does the role involve?

We are currently looking for enthusiastic Support Worker to join our new & exciting Enhanced Support Work team. The role will focus on providing intense support on a spot purchase basis to vulnerable young people both within our accommodation based services and in the community in and around Swansea & Neath.

Support will centre around individuals need and aspirations - what we call a person centred approach. No two days will be the same; you will need to be comfortable with variety, flexibility, problem solving and change and be non-judgemental, have personal resilience, and be able to stay calm under pressure. You will help young people find the key that unlocks their potential so that they can live life to the full. Many of the young people we  work with have a chaotic life style so communication, listening and engagement skills will be paramount.

What is expected from you?

The most important thing you need is to have the right attitude and believe that everyone can achieve great things, given the right skills, assistance, choices and opportunities. You don’t need any specific qualifications or experience, but you must have the commitment to work flexibly around the needs of the project/individual, in some cases you will be part of a rotated team providing support to an individual, sleep ins may also be required.

Being a car driver is essential.
