We are looking for an ambitious Corporate Manager to lead on Strategic Policy, Performance and Insight. This is an important role and requires a dedicated person who exhibits our values, commitment and motivation to make a positive difference across our districts.

We are proud of the role we play in building great communities for everyone to live, work, visit and invest in. Babergh and Mid Suffolk have consistently been voted amongst the top places to live in the UK, and we have an ambitious agenda to ensure that we continue to improve services, in tune with our residents' needs.

Working together across our councils and with our partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors, we provide excellent services to our 190,000 residents across Babergh and Mid Suffolk - working hard to provide homes, support our communities, boost local economy, protect our environment and keep our districts clean, tidy and safe.
This role is integral to many high-profile key strands of work that play an important role in our ongoing transformation and will have demonstrable impact on how the organisation works and impacts our residents and communities' lives.

You will work side by side with our senior management team and councillors, leading a team to enable and drive the future direction of the councils, supporting the development and delivery of our councils' vision, mission and Corporate Plan. You will work closely with Corporate Managers driving forward a more outcomes focused approach to performance, and an evidence and insight led approach to decision making.

We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of the key strategic issues that face Local Government and the wider public sector partners, experience of managing, influencing, and negotiating in a complex political environment, proven experience, and track record of delivering change and successful outcomes, who is highly motivated with excellent communication skills.

This is a diverse role, requiring a flexible and innovative approach, providing plenty of opportunities for you to lead and influence across the breadth of the councils services. Your enthusiasm and commitment to achieving sustainable change across the councils is vital.

*This role is normally based at our modern air-conditioned head office at Endeavour House, Ipswich however, during the COVID 19 pandemic, we have been working from home and it has worked really well for us.

We offer a generous annual leave entitlement, access to the Suffolk Green Travel Plan, discount scheme and pension scheme. We also offer a range of training and development and will give you all the support you need, for your career and wellbeing.

We are committed to agile and flexible working (subject to business need). Supporting equality and diversity, Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils provide opportunity and ambition for all, enabling and empowering our people to deliver the best possible results for our residents.
