The role
In this challenging high profile role, you will be instrumental to the improvement of council care technology and digital development in adult social care alongside health partners and will be the Senior Strategic Sponsor for the NHSX joining up care programme, representing the LGA and ADASS and leading partnership programmes as appropriate.
The focus of the role is to support councils, and local health and care systems, improve care technology and digital developments in adult social care. This is as part of a wider CHIP team whose improvement work includes innovation in social care, co-production, integration, data security, finances, commissioning, safeguarding, and working with national, regional or local NHS partners on an integrated basis to improve outcomes.
To fulfil our CHIP ambitions for digital support and innovation we have recognised the importance of forging a partnership with NHSX, who hold the DHSC policy brief in this area, as well as responsibility to deliver a number of digital support programmes to the adult social care sector. We have made great progress developing our joint approach and this is an excellent opportunity to provide leadership in this area.
The role will work nationally and regionally with NHS, ADASS and council partners. You will also be working with other functions of local government, including where necessary members and members of corporate management teams.
The requirements
You will bring to the role proven senior level experience in complex political and strategic environments within social care and health services. You will have the ability to effect change through building relationships with national and regional partners, with your focus firmly on the difference this is making to people’s lives.
Together with an in-depth understanding of central and local government, you will have a track record of creating strategies, interventions and innovative solutions to complex issues. An inspirational, motivational and influential leader with deep integrity and professional credibility, you will demonstrate a flair for negotiation and forging partnerships.
You must have the right to work in the UK, the LGA are unfortunately unable to offer sponsorship visas. Evidence for the right to work in the UK will be requested at the interview stage.
