About us 

The One Public Estate (OPE) programme helps local councils, government departments and other public sector bodies to make the best use of their property estate to support service delivery and create opportunities for growth. Our programme is delivered in partnership by the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Office of Government Property (OGP) within the Cabinet Office, and the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC). 

The pandemic has prompted reassessment of public service delivery models and estate needs across the public sector, alongside a renewed focus on place and levelling up. With a funded network of partnerships across the country, we want OPE to play a critical role in this as our programme continues to grow and adds further investment on behalf of government partners.

The role

Reporting to the LGA’s OPE Assistant Programme Manager, and working with the Cabinet Office Programme Manager, the Programme Support Officer (PSO) post is part of the programme’s Programme Management Office (PMO). The PMO ensures the programme administers funding effectively, monitors and reports programme performance, and supports the day-to-day operation of a national programme. 

The requirements

All our roles require experience of a fast-paced working environment servicing multiple stakeholders, a collaborative mindset, and a continuous improvement mentality. 
This role requires an individual who can: work independently across multiple projects at any one time; update and analyse spreadsheets; produce reports including internal and external information; plan, prepare and support meetings and events; raise orders and invoices; routinely keep information up to date; and understand and follow corporate policies and processes. 

Successful applicants will need to be team players who are flexible and capable of working with minimal supervision; well organised with the ability to plan and deliver a varied workload; highly capable and well-motivated; excellent communicators. They will also need to have strong interpersonal skills and have excellent attention to detail.
