We are looking for an ambitious Risk Management Lead to join our newly created Policy, Performance, Insight, Risk and Improvement Team with the values, commitment and motivation to improve our districts.

​​​​​​​About the role

A new Outcomes Framework provides the golden thread between our strategy and business planning arrangements. It drives the new performance management approach for the councils and the direction of travel for reporting, embedding a culture of performance challenge and improvement aligned with finance and risk reporting. This is part of our exciting transformation journey.

In this important role you will:

  • lead Risk Management, working across the council to embed risk into the culture of the organisation
  • develop a holistic approach to strategic and operational risk management
  • develop and review Babergh and Mid Suffolk’s Risk Management Policy, Strategy, Toolkit and Risk Register, working with the Strategic Leadership Team
  • embed risk management into the Outcomes Framework, the Corporate Delivery Plan, service planning arrangements, and programme and contract management.
  • work with performance and finance colleagues to ensure they are reported and monitored in an integrated way with risk.

About you

You will:

  • have a degree or equivalent professional experience in risk management
  • have gained extensive experience in developing and reviewing risk management policy, strategy, toolkits and risk registers
  • also have experience in integrating risk with performance and finance reporting and developing, implementing, monitoring and controlling effective systems and procedures which deliver high-quality risk management arrangements.
