The Lewisham Schools’ Human Resources Team provides a broad range of professional advice and personnel administration services to schools within the borough, as well as to managers within the Directorate. The service to schools is delivered through a long established and successful Service Level Agreement which, currently, the vast majority of Lewisham schools use.
The team has a strong customer focus and our success is largely due to our ability and willingness to be flexible, proactive and innovative whilst providing sound advice on good human resource management with a thorough knowledge of current education and employment legislation.
You will be expected to have a confident and articulate approach to communication, a thorough knowledge of good human resource management practice and the ability to interpret complex conditions of service and legislation. You will need to demonstrate experience over a wide range of people management activity as well as ability to work on your own initiative to deliver outcomes.
You will need to be able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of current education and employment legislation and its practical application, and the ability to identify and deal with a range of sensitive human resource issues. You will also need to demonstrate the ability to operate in a pressurised professional role with the minimum of management supervision and be capable of effective team management.
The successful applicant will also need to be flexible, willing and able to meet the requirement to work occasionally outside of normal office hours.
