Junior EMC Test Engineer

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of technology and an opportunity for any HW Test Engineer with Electrical Engineering background to develop their skills and experience to the next level. This role requires the individual to help test systems on behalf of the clients Engineering Services Group and thus aid customers with the designing of their own product solutions before bringing it to the market. Working within our client Lab environment you will carry out EMC testing on our client’s customer systems.  You will also be assisting in other lab test services we provide such as thermal and acoustic as well as system energy usage testing. You must be methodical and process driven as attention to detail in this role is paramount.

You will be provided with a full product and task specific training upon arrival and you will work closely with our client on testing methodology and requirements.


Skill requirements and personal attributes 
  • EMC test experience or knowledge of EMC and Energy usage parameters
  • HND or Degree level in electrical engineering or a related subject
  • knowledge of electrical and/or electronic systems
  • Familiarity with testing, monitoring and control instruments
  • Advanced system building skills, including OS installation and customization as well as hardware integration
  • Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Knowledge of Server functionality and integration is an advantage
  • Ability to multi-task and to work independently to deadline
  • Attention to detail and process driven (to be able to follow test instructions accurately)
  • Ability to debug test reports, e.g. when test targets have failed and to identify root causes for failure and to provide corrective actions
  • Experience of working in a technical lab environment
  • Ability or experience of writing and creating concise and clear test reports
