Join our manufacturing team in Bedford as a Production Operator and make a real impact on our production process.

In this active, practical role, you will be right at the heart of producing high‑quality plastic drainage solutions. If you enjoy staying physically active, take pride in doing a job properly, and like being part of a close‑knit team, this could be a great fit for you.

No experience? No problem. Full training is provided, along with ongoing opportunities to build your skills and develop your career.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a rotating shift pattern 6:00am – 2:00pm or 2:00pm – 10:00pm

This position starts as a 6‑month contract, with the real opportunity to become permanent for the right person.

About the role

In this role you will be:

  • Operating production equipment including ovens and the gantry crane
  • Weigh and measure raw materials
  • Prepare moulds and carry out moulding and demoulding process
  • Record production data and product measures clearly and accurately
  • Trim and finish products ready for the next stage of production
  • Inspect finished products and report faults or quality issues to the Shift Leader or Team Manager
  • Follow all health and safety procedures when using machinery and handling materials
  • Use PPE correctly and work in line with COSHH and Safe Systems of Work
  • Keep work areas clean, tidy, and free from hazards
  • Move raw materials and finished products using a forklift or pallet truck (if license held)

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Some experience working in a factory or production environment preferred
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
  • Pays attention to detail and takes pride in doing a job well
  • Treats colleagues with honesty, respect, and professionalism
  • Willing to learn and follow safety rules at all times
  • Able to carry out physical and manual tasks as part of the role
  • Forklift or pallet truck licence is helpful but not required

You must be prepared to work a Nightshift too which at the moment operates from 10pm-6am on a set duration basis. A nightshift premium of one third is paid for hours worked. Some flexibility is needed from you to work additional hours as the business requires for which overtime rates will be applied.
