An opportunity has become available for an AGS Airline & Travel Trade Marketing Executive, based at Glasgow Airport but with with regular travel to Aberdeen and Southampton Airports.

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • The Marketing Executive will support with the development and execution of the marketing activity for the Group’s three airports (Aberdeen, Glasgow & Southampton). 
  • Reporting to the Airline & Travel Trade Marketing Manager, the purpose of this role will be to proactively promote each airport in their respective catchment areas, with the aim of driving passenger numbers through airline marketing and travel trade engagement. 
  • The successful candidate will actively work with airline marketing teams to coordinate local marketing plans to raise awareness of their routes, in addition to promoting inaugural flight events, flight anniversaries and key milestones. 
  • The role will also require working with local airline sales teams to raise the profile of each airport’s route network to travel agents and travel trade associations. Activity will include coordinating a structured programme of travel agent visits, planning local events, developing trade campaigns and growing online communities. 
  • Additional responsibilities will include providing general marketing support to other internal departments such as Operations, Retail, Car Parking and the Business Development Team. 
     

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop, plan and implement consumer marketing campaigns in collaboration with airline stakeholders
  • Establish quarterly marketing plans for each airline across paid for and owned channels
  • Utilise each Airport’s on and offline channels to best promote each airline, including email, social media, blogs and terminal marketing
  • Work in partnership with the internal digital marketing to coordinate a content marketing plan across each airport
  • Manage the production of the Airports’ consumer magazines and take charge of it from content brief through design, creation of content and final sign off 
  • Support the planning and management of large campaigns throughout the year across radio, press, online, experiential and TV advertising 
  • Liaise with external design and media agencies to coordinate marketing activity
  • Develop and nurture relationships with the Travel Agents and Travel Trade Associations within each airports’ key catchment areas
  • Work with airline and tour operator stakeholders to ensure that key route messages are communicated to the trade
  • Coordinate a structured programme of travel agent visits with/without airline sales managers
  • Develop and maintain the travel trade email database and Facebook groups, creating a content marketing plan to drive engagement 
  • Act as a company representative at Airline and Travel Trade events
  • Facilitate travel agent events at the airport with airline partners
  • Track commercial success of all marketing activity & provide analysis
  • Carry out additional administrative responsibilities within the AGS Airline Marketing Team when required

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • 2+ years marketing/sales experience and/or relevant qualification  
  • Experience from within the travel industry would be preferred 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Fast, enthusiastic learner with a willingness to take initiative 
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint & Excel
  • Full UK driving license
