Job Overview

Reporting to the Group Head of Communications and Sustainability, the role holder will assist in effectively managing AGS Airports’ internal and external relationships.
This will include supporting the delivery of the internal communications strategy to promote the group strategy and communicate important news to AGS airports colleagues
The successful candidate will also be involved in monitoring media activity, identifying PR opportunities, pitching news and feature ideas, writing copy, collating reports and assisting with all aspects of team administration.

The role holder will be a strong team player with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. They must have the ability to demonstrate initiative and creativity whilst being able to manage a diverse workload.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Work as part of the wider communications and sustainability team to promote AGS’ sustainability strategy, both internally and externally, by developing and implementing creative campaigns.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure there is commitment to and general understanding of AGS’ environmental and wider sustainability commitments.
  • Support the development and management of AGS Airports’ media relations strategy. This will include researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media.
  • Deliver regular internal communications, such as newsletters and updates on key developments within the business.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the press office function.
  • Provide media support for AGS Airports’ airline partners, as and when required.
  • Support social media messaging and responses on key issues.
  • Assist with all aspects of team administration. This will include preparing regular progress reports for the Group Head of Communications and Sustainability.
  • Attend departmental meetings across the airports and represent AGS at external events as and when required.
  • As the role is Glasgow-based, the role holder will act as a liaison between Glasgow Airport and its neighbouring communities, taking responsibility for the administrating of the airport’s community fund.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good inter-personal skills with the ability to form close and constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and multi-task with a high degree of accuracy.
  • A creative thinker, able to contribute innovative PR ideas.
  • Competent with PR administration duties.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and effectively prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Interest and knowledge of political processes, structures and relationships.
