Glasgow Airport is celebrating its 50th anniversary year in 2016 with 30 airlines serving more than 120 destinations worldwide. In 2015 the airport won Scottish Airport of the Year and UK Airport of the Year and the AOA Best Airport with between 3 and 10 million passengers. What’s more, the airport starts this very special year in a position of real strength, having reported its largest-ever annual increase in passenger numbers after more than 8.7 million passengers travelled through its doors in 2015, representing an annual increase of 13% – over one million additional passengers!
We are looking to add to the airport’s commercial team who work hard to grow the passenger numbers by developing existing routes as well as gaining new routes and airlines. This role reports to the Marketing & Customer Insight Manager and the successful candidate will be responsible for proactively promoting Glasgow Airport and driving passenger numbers through joint marketing activity with the airlines and raising the profile of the airport’s route network to travel agents, travel trade associations and the general public.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain relationships with airline and tour operator Head Office marketing teams, local airline sales teams as well as key travel agency contacts to develop aligned marketing and sales activity to increase load factors. The role also involves regular visits to our High Street travel agent partners as well as planning and managing airline launch events, anniversaries and airport led travel trade events.
The successful candidate MUST have at least two years practical marketing experience and knowledge of the Scottish travel trade would be a distinct advantage.
