Barking & Dagenham College is a vibrant and highly successful College in East London with circa 7,500 students, circa 500 established staff and a turnover of £35m.  The College offers routes into learning from entry level through to MBA level, including apprenticeships, higher level apprentices, higher education and job centre plus clients.  We have technical specialist areas from level 3 and above with a broad based curriculum up to level 2.

We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for a Team & Data Administrator to provide a full range of data  administrative duties to support curriculum areas, whilst working closely with other data and administrative colleagues to establish standardised administrative systems, processes and working practices across the college.

Your duties will include;

  • Prepare and process letters, documents and reports in connection with the work of curriculum areas, some of which may be confidential.
  • Manage, update and ensure accuracy of database systems  and spreadsheet information including those used to track progress of students.
  • Resolve enquiries and administer requests from internal and external stakeholders via telephone, email or in person or refer to the relevant staff to resolve.
  • Liaise with students and parents to establish and record the reason for nonattendance and work with curriculum teams to agree a plan for facilitating a return to college using appropriate strategies within specified timescales
  • Work on initiatives which raise the awareness of college staff, parents and the community on the importance of college attendance.
  • Follow up leads from external agencies promptly and professionally demonstrating excellent customer care at all times​​​​​​

It is essential to the role that you should;

  • Be educated to a good standard with excellent communication skills
  • Have experience of general administrative duties
  • Have sound knowledge  and  experience of using Microsoft Office Packages
  • Have experience of  producing reports, updating data bases and spread sheets
  • Be able to organise manager’s diary to ensure effective use of time ​​​​​​​
