About the Role
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of refugees? We are looking for a dedicated Information, Advice, and Guidance Officer to join our team in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES). This role is pivotal in supporting Ukrainian guests and other refugees in finding and sustaining meaningful employment. You will take the time to understand the unique needs of each individual and help them achieve their goal of paid employment and sustained work.
Your days will be varied, requiring you to work in partnership with various providers and current programs to ensure a supportive pathway for each participant. You will conduct initial assessments to discuss the type of work refugees are looking for, their challenges, and their aspirations. Your support will range from CV preparation, job-searching skills, interview skills, travel training, and in-work support. You will identify participants' skills and strengths, find them to suitable jobs, You will maintain accurate records and manage a caseload of participants autonomously.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience in collaborative working, making and keeping accurate records, and understanding the barriers faced by refugees attempting to enter the job market. Excellent problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication, and ICT proficiency are essential. The ability to travel to locations throughout B&NES for meetings and drop-in sessions is required, as well as attending employment and other relevant events on behalf of the Skills Connect and Resettlement Team. If possible, providing translation support to the Skills Connect Team is desirable.
