Job Description

Please note this is not a Bath & North East Somerset Council Vacancy.

We are seeking to appoint two dedicated, enthusiastic and professional Teaching Assistants to join our vibrant and inclusive school community. These are fixed-term appointments, starting as soon as possible until 31 August 2026, subject to a review of funding and staffing requirements.

You will be joining a committed, experienced and well-established staff team within a school that is proud of its Good Ofsted rating and strong inclusive values.

Our school is a welcoming and nurturing environment where every child is valued and supported to thrive. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting learning across the school, leading small group activities and targeted interventions, with a particular focus on supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) mainly with an autistic spectrum condition.

You will work closely with teachers, the Inclusion Lead and a skilled support team to help meet the needs of pupils with a range of additional needs, enabling them to access the curriculum, build confidence and achieve their full potential. Some of this work will include one to one support to enable children to thrive.

We are looking for Teaching Assistants who have relevant experience of working with primary-aged children and a clear understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant in supporting and maximising learning outcomes.

Experience of supporting pupils with additional needs is highly desirable.

Relevant professional qualifications, such as a Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent, would be an advantage.

The successful candidates will:

  • have high expectations of themselves and of all children
  • believe that every child can succeed with the right support and encouragement
  • be imaginative, patient and creative in their approach
  • work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, supportive team

In return, we can offer:

  • the support of a friendly, dedicated and highly supportive staff team who work closely together to provide the best possible outcomes for pupils
  • the opportunity to work with wonderful children who are enthusiastic, resilient and eager to learn
  • experience of working within a strong, inclusive school with a clear commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs
  • a modern, well-equipped building that provides a calm, safe and stimulating learning environment

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and making a real difference to children’s lives within a caring and supportive school community.

Visits to the school are encouraged, please telephone the school office to make an appointment Tel: 0117 986 3856.

Closing date: Tuesday 10th February 2026 at 12 Noon.

Interviews will be held on Friday 13th February 2026.

Application forms should be returned to Yvette Collier, School Business Manager Yvette_Collier@bathnes.gov.uk by Tuesday 11th February by 12 Noon.
