We provide additional pay enhancements for all roles, applicable to shifts worked during weekends, nights, and bank holidays.

We are seeking a casual/bank Caretaker & Maintenance Operative to support staff across our Residential Services. This role will involve work across all three of our sites:

  • Charlton House Nursing Home, Keynsham.
  • Cleeve Court Residential Home, Twerton, Bath.
  • Combe Lea, Midsomer Norton.

You will be provided with a works vehicle, and it is essential that you have a clean and valid driving licence so that you can travel between the sites.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing routine maintenance, including basic plumbing and decorating. You will also be tasked with ensuring security is maintained and scheduled checks are conducted throughout the home. A knowledge of repairs and a good standard of record keeping is essential. Must have the ability to carry out minor repairs and general maintenance, including but not limited to basic plumbing and decorating and be able to work unsupervised.

Tasks could include:

  • Routine maintenance, e.g. testing the emergency lighting
  • Weekly fire drill test
  • Changing light bulbs around the care home
  • Checking the care home is secure
  • Testing the water temperatures and documenting them
  • Repairing broken locks/ toilet seats
  • Painting empty rooms
  • Garden maintenance and upkeep of grounds- e.g., flower beds and lawns.
