Job Description

At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives.

About the Fashion Museum Bath

Fashion Museum Bath will re-open its doors in the transformed, historic Old Post Office in Bath city centre in 2030.

Our vision is to champion fashion’s transformative power as a global industry and expression of creativity, culture and identity.

Our mission is to create a museum that brings fashion to life for local and global audiences, reshaping Bath for the future.

Fashion Museum Bath holds one of the world’s leading collections of fashion, spanning 400 years of human creativity, from 1600 to the present day. It is an exciting time for us as we undertake a major capital project to open a new 21st-century museum in the heart of the city, comprising dynamic galleries and community learning spaces showcasing and engaging with more of our extraordinary collection than ever before.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Young People Producer – Learning & Engagement to help shape and deliver inspiring opportunities for young people across Bath and North East Somerset.

This role will utilise the transformative power of fashion and our collection to engage young people and co-create programmes that reflect their interests, aspirations and experiences. A particular focus will be working with young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training), helping them build confidence, develop transferable skills, and explore pathways into further education, training and employment.

Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this role will lead community outreach activity and work closely with local partners to deliver an ambitious pre-opening programme in the lead-up to the museum's reopening.

This is an exciting opportunity to help ensure that young people play a central role in shaping the future of Fashion Museum Bath.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with young people and creating meaningful opportunities for participation and personal development.

You will have:

  • Proven experience of delivering community outreach work with young people aged 16–24, particularly those who are NEET.
  • Experience of co-designing and co-producing creative programmes and projects with young people.
  • Experience of supporting young people to develop skills, confidence and progression routes into education, training or employment.
  • Excellent partnership-building and communication skills.
  • A strong commitment to inclusion, participation and meaningful engagement with young people.

Our Values

At Bath and North East Somerset Council, we uphold values of Boldness, Empowerment, Support, and Transparency. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who share our commitment to these principles.
