About the Role
We are recruiting for a highly experienced Green Infrastructure Project Manager to project manage our WaterSpace Connected and Chew Valley Lake Recreational Trail projects. Both are part of our Connecting Landscapes and Catchments Green Infrastructure Programme.
This role will focus on developing both projects to Full Business Case level for submission to the West of England Combined Authority to unlock funding for delivery. The role will involve working with external partners and stakeholders, internal departments, and teams to ensure both projects reach the delivery stage.
The WaterSpace Connected project is the delivery of a new walking and cycling bridge over the River Avon at Somerdale, connecting Keynsham and South Gloucestershire, and the creation of a nature park and wetland habitat adjacent to the bridge in partnership with the landowner.
Chew Valley Lake Recreational Trail project is to deliver the southern section of the recreational trail. A Full Business case is in development, with work underway to commission surveys to prepare required planning application:
About You
The post holder will have overall responsibility for developing both projects, including project management, budgeting, reporting to West of England Combined Authority, and council senior managers and members, and leading on communications, and community engagement.
The post holder will have proven ability in project management of complex projects, design development, writing funding bids, tender briefs, managing consultants, and overseeing consultation events with a wide range of stakeholders. Thus, we are seeking someone with excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
This post is full time (37 hrs per week) fixed-term till 31st March 2026 initially, with the potential to extend dependent upon the success of securing funding.
