BPP Business School is recruiting for faculty in the area of Cyber Security to support the delivery of this stream on our Digital Technology Solutions Programme and also Cyber Security related modules in our wider apprenticeship programmes.

We are looking for highly motivated, practitioner experienced lecturers to bring high quality teaching, content creation and module leadership into the School.

Job Background

The role of the faculty lecturer is to develop and deliver engaging teaching and learning materials (across Levels 3 to 6) that ensure that learner’s in the Business School receive a premium education and learning experience.


Faculty will undertake a variety of duties including, but not restricted to, module leadership, curriculum design, assessment marking, personal tuition, project supervision, managing online cohorts, undertaking scholarship work and teaching (primarily live, on line via the Adobe Connect platform, with a possible requirement for some face to face delivery). Faculty may also be required to support business development, program management and/or learner recruitment activities, such as attending client briefings and/or Business School open evenings.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Be accountable for high quality module learning and resource development, using relevant professional syllabus material to create high quality, engaging teaching and learning materials, including formative multiple choice and other assessment materials.
  2. Develop and deliver high quality and consistent teaching materials including detailed schemes of work, topic guidance, activity checklists, content, (including webinar slides and resources).
  3. Examining, assessment and marking within the relevant programmes.
  4. Supervising student projects within the relevant programmes.
  5. Undertake scholarship activities and contribute to the research base within the school. Raise the profile of the school through attendance at conferences and externally published scholarship and research.
  6. Managing a local cohort of students to ensure the smooth running and academic integrity of the relevant programme.
  7. Providing academic support for commercial and business development activities within the school. Ad hoc provision of client liaison and support as required.
  8. Supporting the Faculty and Corporate vision of a “university with a national and international reputation for excellence, innovation and regional engagement”.
  9. Any other duties appropriate to the grade and nature of the post.


Development Opportunities

The Business School also has lecturer opportunities in the wider IT discipline across our apprenticeship programmes, which a lecturer in this role could get involved in. It provides scope to provide academic support to a wider variety of learners from differing contexts if they wish to take the opportunity.
