Business Development Manager - (Home Based) Nationwide

Key Accountabilities

  • Role model our Company Values and Purpose
  • To sell Sysco Speciality group businesses to new customers across various sectors within foodservice and retail, identify key decision makers and influencers within a prospect customer and build long term partnerships
  • Use your existing customer contacts to accelerate new business engagement, identify new sales opportunities, engage and win
  • To build and maintain a new business prospect list aligned to our business growth strategy
  • To actively convert current prospect customers into active realistic pipeline opportunities
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the customers wants and needs and present the appropriate business solution as well as understanding the operational element of the business to provide the best long-term solution for the customer and ultimately the Sysco Speciality Group
  • Engage with the customer and legal stakeholders to reach agreement with contract terms to ensure the best outcome for the Sysco Speciality Group
  • Pro-actively manage the integration of new business wins with the relevant departments to ensure smooth handover
  • To proactively manage customer retention prior to handover to the national account team
  • Own and proactively execute the company new business process from start to end
  • To maintain competitor awareness, and to maintain and develop knowledge of the product offering
  • Liaise with the senior management team, develop a good understanding of departmental objectives and maintain strong relationships
  • Relationships are key, and you will need to have the ability to engage in high level questioning to build a knowledge of customer needs / buying behaviour to develop bespoke offerings and educate the development of the trade channel propositions.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for SSG in your local market.​​​​​​​

You’ll also need to be confident with the adoption of our modernisation programme and the new technology we are adopting to improve the customer experience and optimise performance (Experience of salesforce while not essential, would be advantageous).
