Medina Foodservice seeks a Compliance Manager to join our team based in Newport, Isle of Wight who will be responsible for the implementation of Sysco policies and procedures relating to both Food Safety and Colleague Heath & Safety whilst ensuring compliance across all departments and operational sites (Southampton and Isle of White). Expect to be administering, embedding and maintaining records whilst managing health & safety across the Isle of White depot, which is made up of approx. 90 colleagues.

This role is being offered on a full-time permanent basis and will require the successful candidate to be based on site in the Isle of Wight each day.

With support from group, your job will be to:

  • Maintain compliance with all legal requirements, including standards, training and record-keeping
  • Review and update existing policies and procedures and implement new policies & procedures in line with new legislation and industry accepted best practices
  • Manage meetings of the Health & Safety & HACCP teams, minute outcomes and implement identified improvements
  • Obtain (and maintain) external accreditations in Safety and Quality, by adapting and improving existing practices in line with the relevant requirements
  • Liaise with auditors representing customers, as well as regulatory authorities
  • Liaise with both internal and external stake holders
  • Ensure that all relevant records are kept and catalogued
  • Undertake regular internal audits and traceability exercises
  • Carry out all other relevant activities within the Company

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience of operating within a business that operates in accordance with recognised standards and have experience in either Health & Safety or Food Safety, or both! Experience of conducting internal audits and dealing with EHOs, HSE, FSA and/or other relevant regulatory bodies. We are looking for someone who has the ability to manage and prioritise workloads and projects with excellent communication skills across all levels. NEBOSH and/or Level 3 HACCP training is desirable but not essential, Ongoing development and training will be provided.
