About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Carer to join our team in a dual-role position. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled care professional who enjoys both hands-on care and responsibility.

The role involves:

  • 1 day per week working as a Care Assistant
  • 2 days per week stepping up into a Senior Carer role, leading the shift and supporting the wider care team

You must be confident working with external professionals and able to demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Care Assistant Duties:

  • Deliver high-quality personal care including washing, dressing, continence care, feeding, and mobility support
  • Promote dignity, independence, privacy, and choice at all times
  • Support residents’ emotional wellbeing and daily activities
  • Maintain accurate daily records and care documentation
  • Follow health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding procedures

Senior Carer Duties:

  • Act as shift leader and ensure the smooth running of the home during your shift
  • Supervise, support, and mentor care staff
  • Administer and manage medication safely in line with policies and MAR procedures
  • Undertake and record observations and escalate health concerns appropriately
  • Liaise with external professionals including GPs, Nurses, Psychiatrists, and other agencies
  • Contribute to care planning, handovers, audits, and quality assurance processes
  • Lead by example, promoting professionalism, dignity, and best practice

About You

You will:

  • Have previous experience working in a care setting
  • Hold a minimum Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (or equivalent)
  • Be confident working in a senior capacity and leading shifts
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be professional, compassionate, reliable, and organised
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced adult DBS
