Due to our company expanding and our current fleet growing, we are preparing by recruiting for a Fleet Public Health Officer position

That’s where you’ll come in. As a Fleet Public Health Officer, overseeing and driving the high quality of shipboard public health practices through operational support, compliance audits, policy and procedure development and implementation, as well as HR support of public health officer recruitment, training, and performance reviews.
Within this role you will be responsible for helping to make our ships the safest on the seas, in this exciting and varied role. You will lead by example in your role, reporting all accidents or near misses, whilst following all safety rules and procedures. You will coordinate with your shoreside manager and shipboard PHO to resolve any operational issues, or emergencies that occur.
Your challenge will be to expertly identify, and build the skills of the on board teams, maintaining their knowledge and understanding of legislation and operational objectives.
What we’re looking for:
- An individual with a Bachelor’s Degree within Public Health, Environmental Health, Biological Sciences, or any closely related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field of environments or public health
- Having ship experience would be desirable .
- Knowledge of infection control practices and Vessel Sanitation Standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various teams.
- Experience in implementing, overseeing, or auditing public health programmes.
- Someone able to direct prevention and control of infectious disease, overseeing compliance and reporting findings.
- A calming presence, with a structured approached and ability to influence people at all levels.
- Able to understand and promote company direction and values and demonstrate this by actively embracing and doing what they can to deliver it
