Job Description
Set Sail on a Career Like No Other – Become a Fleet Safety Trainer with P&O Cruises and Cunard
At P&O Cruises and Cunard, safety is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for passionate and driven Fleet Safety Trainers to help us uphold and evolve our world-class safety culture.
This is more than just a job, it’s a chance to join a vibrant community, travel the world, and gain unforgettable experiences. As a Fleet Safety Trainer, you’ll discover that working at sea is not just a career, it’s a way of life.
As a Fleet Safety Trainer, you’ll take the lead in delivering and evaluating all safety training across our fleet. Your role is vital in ensuring our onboard teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond swiftly and safely in any situation.
You will be responsible for:
- Delivering engaging safety inductions and refresher training
- Promoting our HESS Culture (Health, Environment, Safety & Security)
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety legislation, and operational standards
- Collaborating with our shore-based training teams to continuously improve training delivery and effectiveness
This is a challenging and rewarding role that will stretch even the most experienced trainers – and the rewards are just as great.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking individuals who are:
- Experienced in safety training, ideally within the maritime industry
- Qualified with a recognised training certification (or equivalent)
- Knowledgeable in STCW, IMO model courses, and cruise ship safety
Experience on a cruise ship is a bonus, but not essential. We value attitude and potential just as much as experience.
You will also need to be:
- Organised and calm under pressure
- A confident communicator and natural motivator
- Committed to high standards and integrity in everything you do
If you are successful in being offered a role we will ask that you complete your STCW Basic Training to ensure you are well prepared for your new role at sea. Our teams will be able to support you in arranging training and explaining what’s needed.
So, if you're ready to take your training career to the next level with a world-leading cruise company, apply now and start your journey with us.
Equality
We are working hard to build a flexible and inclusive culture. As part of our culture difference is valued and our people can be themselves. We welcome applications from everyone because inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, marriage & civil partnership and pregnancy & maternity.
At Carnival UK, we collaborate with a variety of reputable agencies who will never ask you to pay a hiring fee or any other associated monies in order to submit an application to us. All applications are reviewed against the same criteria and using an agency will not increase your chances of being successful.
