We’re looking for an engaging and compassionate Crew Welfare Officer to join our onboard HR team and help create a happy, healthy and connected ship’s community. Working at the heart of crew life, you’ll play a key role in promoting positive mental health, delivering engaging welfare initiatives and ensuring our crew feel supported, valued and able to thrive while on board.

Main responsibilities:

  • Promote a healthy lifestyle and positive mental wellbeing for crew on board
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver engaging crew activities and social events linked to the 5 Ways to Wellbeing
  • Provide pastoral care and support to a diverse onboard community
  • Work closely with the Onboard Medical Team to support occupational health campaigns and wellbeing initiatives
  • Actively encourage a holistic approach to wellbeing in collaboration with HR, Safety, Occupational Health and Medical teams
  • Support first-time seafarers to integrate successfully into life onboard
  • Chair and support the Seafarers’ Welfare Committee (SWC), encouraging engagement and gathering balanced feedback
  • Promote company wellbeing tools and support networks
  • Encourage crew participation in Life Onboard surveys and support communication of results and action plans
  • Tour crew welfare and recreational spaces to ensure standards are maintained
  • Maintain an approachable, visible presence onboard and act as a trusted point of contact for crew

Experience & Requirements to apply:

  • Previous experience in administration, events, entertainment or welfare-related roles (ideally within hospitality or cruise industry)
  • Strong planning, organisation and time-management skills
  • Confident, empathetic communicator
  • Comfortable working with people from diverse cultures, backgrounds and roles
  • Proficient in MS Office and onboard IT systems
  • Highly organised with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
