To enable Corporate Shipbuilding to be the centre of excellence we aspire to be, we are looking for an Outfitting Engineer specialising in the Catering Area. This is to support the outfitting team in the review of our Catering, Laundry and Provision process in reviewing the designs, and advising the brands and shipyards during the build process. This role is to work alongside a Senior Engineer who has extensive experience in this area.
The ideal candidate will have experience in design of cruise ship interior design, ideally specialising within the catering and laundry areas.
- Responsible for plan approval work for selected topics and projects including specifications, drawings, diagrams and other technical submissions.
- To monitor the construction or conversion of the vessels to ensure that the work in the shipyards follows the approved drawings and specifications and complies with acceptable marine standards and report any delays or other deviations from the schedule.
- To participate in technical discussions for the discipline, and contribute as required in negotiations with builders and suppliers for the discipline including mock up Inspections and on board inspections.
As an engineer you will have experience working on public areas design for cruise ships, ideally specialising in the catering areas.
Your background will be a degree in architecture, engineering or interior design, and you will have experience working on cruise ship plan approval review, and how different regulations and standards impact the design process.
