The Role – IT Support Assistant

This is a key role working as part of our professional IT team to provide an effective and efficient IT systems and user desktop support. 

As an IT Support Assistant you will: 

  • Provide an effective and efficient IT systems and user desktop support; following procedures, asking relevant questions, troubleshooting and escalating where necessary.
  • Accurately log, manage and update jobs on the IT helpdesk, ensuring that SLA’s are met. 
  • Take ownership of IT jobs within the IT helpdesk, using initiative, skills and knowledge to deal with jobs proactively and follow through to closure.
  • Ensure users’ systems are setup correctly and escalate to IT Analysts if required.
  • Provide user training and new user on-boarding, demonstrating excellent customer service skills at all times.
  • Maintain the IT asset management system.

The Package

  • Permanent contract
  • 40 hours per week, worked Monday-Friday between 8am-7pm and 1 in 3 weekends/bank holidays as rostered (time off in lieu will be provided)
  • 33 days annual leave

Our Requirements – IT Support Assistant 

  • Microsoft systems support experience.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, a desire to learn and improve processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, evidencing good attention to detail.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills; professional and helpful with the ability to convey information in a user-friendly format.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and an understanding of data protection. 

Although not essential, the following would be desirable: 

  • A relevant degree and an understanding of networking.
