With patient safety as our main priority, we have deployed cutting-edge technology and innovative processes to support a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Pharmacy service. This includes unit dose production and dispensing as well as comprehensive CIVAS to ensure the right medicine is prepared for the right patient at the right dose through the right technique. We are operating a closed loop medicines management system including automated stock management to ensure timely and efficient supply of medicines to clinical areas. The unique barcode medicines administration at the bedside and a fully integrated system for the electronic health records supports safe and effective prescribing, clinical screening and patient monitoring.
What are we looking for?
We are recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to play a key part in the efficient day to day running of the dispensary and assisting the Lead Dispensary and Stores Technician and Pharmacy Operations Manager when required. You will assist with the ordering and storage of stock, prepare labels and dispense prescriptions, and give advice to patients on the use of their dispensed medications.
This is a rotational role in which you will be involved in the implementation of our Operational Supply Services including operation of the dispensing automation such as our BD Pyxis™ Automated Dispensing Cabinets, Carousels and CII Safe, our Swisslog Therapick™ Unit Dose Repackaging Robot and our IT Epic™ EMR system.
This role will start on our Outpatient Services rotation where you will be integral to the development and implementation of our supply service with our Operations Pharmacist with the goal of optimising patient safety and experience. As a result we are seeking a self-initiating technician with strong communication skills and adaptability to change to represent our Pharmacy Team. What we need from you:
- Experience of working in the stores and distribution department
- Experience of working in a busy dispensary department
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience is preferred
- Experience of purchasing pharmaceuticals
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC.
