Corps Security is currently looking to recruit an HR Advisor/ER Specialist to cover maternity leave for a minimum period of 12 months. This role will report to the HR Manager and will specialise in employees relations to support and advise colleagues and the management team from our North region.  The role is based in our Birmingham office with an option to work from home based on the business requirement.   

This role has a varied and interesting ER caseload and you will work closely with our managers across a number of sites supporting them - so you will need experience of managing an ER caseload, including losing term sick and change management.

All about you

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in end-to-end employee relations case management, including sensitive and complex challenges 
  • Experience in working in the security/cleaning/retails/facility management industry or similar 
  • Up-to-date knowledge and passion for understanding UK employment law and its practical application
  • The ability to provide daily / operational guidance and advice to the management team on all employee relations matters
  • Experience in coaching and building capability on best practice and quality case management
  • The ability to identify and manage legal, financial and reputational risk
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver to a tight timescale
  • Resilience and flexibility

Duties include:

  • Support all ER activities including disciplinaries, performance management, grievances, absence, flexible working, redundancies, restructures, parental leave and any other  ER activities
  • Coach and upskill our operational management team to build a positive employee relations environment and reduce any potential risks
  • Assist in developing, designing and implementing new policies, procedures and guidelines and ensuring they are up to date as per UK legislation
  • Provide data and highlight key trends in employee relations to actively drive proactive solutions to minimise risks and reduce reactive work

This role is hands-on and will require involvement in a variety of employee relations matters.
