Job Description

Are you aged 14 to 16 years old as of 15th June 2022?
Would you like an exciting and unique opportunity to develop your skills in teamwork and citizenship through undertaking Firefighter and Police activities?


Then come and join our 7-month trial at Buxton Fire Station for a Joint Police and Fire cadet unit.  If all goes well, it will be extended to a 2-year programme.


The programme provides young people with an insight into working within uniformed services.  It provides exciting and unique opportunities to develop skills in teamwork and citizenship through undertaking Firefighter and Police activities such as Ladder Drills, Interview techniques, Hose drills, uniformed foot drill and more.   Please see the role description for further information


Cadets can gain recognised qualifications including DofE and First Aid.

Starting in June 2022, the Cadet unit at Buxton Fire Station will run for three hours on a Wednesday from 18:00 - 21:00 hours, with activities during school holidays this includes summer holidays.

Applications close midnight on 24th May 2022.  There are 12 places available on the programme.


Once you have submitted your application this will be reviewed, and applicants will be invited to attend Buxton Fire Station for an informal discussion.  Successful applicants will be required to attend an information session on 8 June 2022 at 18:00 hours.
