Our role

We are looking for 2 Trainee Cable Jointers to join our team in Workington.

You will be part of the Operations team responsible for Jointing cables on the underground electricity distribution network, working on both live and dead circuits.

To become a Cable Jointer, you will follow a predetermined training and development plan designed to enable you to gain the appropriate skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications to become a Cable Jointers Mate then moving on to become a fully qualified Cable Jointer. 

What we are looking for:-

  • Be willing to work outside in all weathers with some anti-social hours – essential
  • Be customer focused with the ability to communicate clearly – essential
  • Be in possession of a full UK driving licence – essential
  • Be well organised, self-motivated and happy working as part of a team - essential
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to complete paperwork relating to work-based activities - essential
  • Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent – essential
  • Experience of operating plant - desirable
  • Relevant utility or street works experience - desirable
  • Computer literacy – desirable

In return we will offer you: 

Bonus earning potential of up to 10% of your base salary, 26 days holiday rising to 30 days plus bank holidays, enrolment into the company pension scheme with employer contributions of up to 14% of base salary.
