Due to our continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Payroll Supervisor to work in our fast paced finance department. In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for payroll related queries from Flavour Warehouse employees and external bodies. You will be responsible for liaising directly with HMRC and our payroll bureau to handle any statutory requirements and ensure payroll deadlines are met.

Other duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate the end-to-end payroll processes for Flavour Warehouse to ensure compliance with the company’s policies and standard operating procedures
  • Generate and prepare reports relating to clocking in/out, timesheets and overtime calculations
  • Process payroll amendments for new starters, leavers, contractual changes, tax code changes and 3rd party deductions
  • Process monthly payments to HMRC, pension providers and other external bodies
  • Action internal expense claims and unpaid leave for colleagues ensuring this is accounted for in payroll
  • With support from the Finance Director, run the monthly payroll cost for Flavour Warehouse and reconcile all payroll transactions to the Purchasing and Finance Administrator
  • Manage the payroll processes of staff benefits, leavers, statutory payments (SMP & SPP), unpaid leave and sick pay entitlements, ensuring the reporting deadlines are met
  • Process P45s and annual P60s and P11Ds
  • Reconcile the company pension deductions
  • Liaising with the Group Finance Director, cross check BACS payment files prior to submitting to the bank
  • Liaise with the Group HR department regarding internal payrolls

To be considered for this role you should demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Demonstrable experience of working within a busy internal payroll position within FMCG, manufacturing or retail industry
  • In depth knowledge of payroll legislation, processes and statutory requirements
  • Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals qualification or qualified by experience
  • Proven experience and knowledge of BACS payments
  • PC literate and an advanced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to work well under pressure
  • Highly numerate
  • Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • String interpersonal skills with the drive to succeed and resolve problems
