The Role
Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking a Power Platform Developer to join our IT team at our Head office at Walton Summit. This role is full time role, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
We are looking for a Power Platform Developer with strong Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate experience, as well as solid SQL expertise, Azure knowledge, and the ability to build and maintain data models using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering robust, secure, and scalable solutions that support our data strategy and business operations. From designing powerful dashboards to building OLAP cubes and automating complex processes, your work will enable real-time insights and efficiency across the firm.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for achieving successful outcomes such as:
- Designing, building, and maintaining enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and SSAS data models (multidimensional and/or tabular).
- Developing and optimising SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data into reports, queries, and cubes.
- Delivering end-to-end data solutions, from requirement gathering and modelling to deployment and support.
- Designing custom business applications in Power Apps focused on usability, performance, and business impact.
- Automating processes using Power Automate and integrate across Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
- Maintaining and supporting Azure resources including Data Factory, SQL Database, Logic Apps, and relevant security components.
- Leveraging AI capabilities (e.g. AI Builder, Azure OpenAI, Copilot) to enrich apps and processes.
- Exploring and implementing agent-based AI to support decision-making and streamline complex tasks.
- Documenting solutions, maintaining strong governance, and ensuring security best practices are upheld.
- Working independently with stakeholders to manage projects and deliver to timelines.
- Provide mentoring, knowledge sharing, and support to other users of Power Platform tools.
The Person
We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on their demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skills in:
Essential:
- Microsoft Power Platform or Azure certifications;
- Proven hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate;
- Strong SQL skills, including stored procedures, query tuning, and working with relational databases;
- Experience in building and maintaining SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) cubes, either multidimensional or tabular;
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Azure security concepts;
- Experience delivering secure end-to-end data solutions independently with minimal supervision;
- Comfortable working in hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud), integrating multiple data sources;
- A self-starter with the ability to manage your own workload and deliver to deadlines;
- Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, analytical approach;
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues;
- Demonstrates they are a team player who shares knowledge and supports continuous improvement;
- Demonstrates a passion for data, innovation, and delivering solutions that make a real difference.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript for custom app development;
- Experience in the legal sector is a bonus;
- Practical experience or a strong interest in AI integration. e.g. using AI Builder, Copilot Studio, or Azure OpenAI;
