About the Role

The position advertised is for the combined posts of Clerk of Tynwald, Secretary of the House of Keys and Counsel to the Speaker. The Clerk of Tynwald is also Registrar of Members' Interests.

The post-holder is the Principal Officer of Tynwald, and is responsible to the President of Tynwald and the Speaker of the House of Keys for procedural and other matters relating to the Chambers and to the Tynwald Management Committee for services to Members generally; the Clerk is employed during the pleasure of the Court of Tynwald and the House of Keys.

The primary function of the Clerk of Tynwald and his/her Office is to support Members of Tynwald in discharging their parliamentary duties. The Office at present has 29 employees.
