The Department for Enterprise is seeking to employ four outstanding business leaders to head up four Executive Agency boards, becoming a vital part of an exciting public-private partnership approach to economic development. We are looking for a Chair for each of our Executive Agency boards who will mobilise the board and establish a close working relationship with the Agency’s Senior Manager, Agency staff and the wider industry sector to develop a successful public/private partnership.
Our Executive Chairs will combine strategic thinking with operational pragmatism. If you are a thought leader, effective in your stewardship, with political astuteness and strong business experience, we would be delighted to hear from you. This part-time role will appeal to professionals able to combine other professional commitments with Agency board responsibilities. Recently retired professionals and those individuals returning to work after a sabbatical are also welcome to apply.
The posts are for two years, plus an optional 2 year extension by mutual agreement, with a nominal remuneration of £7,500 gross for 24 days per year. It is possible that the Chair will be invited to participate in a number of additional unpaid events and activities during his or her tenure. In the event that the Chair undertakes such additional work, and is required to travel off-Island, expenses will be reimbursed in line with governmental financial regulations.
