We have 4 opportunities to begin your IT career in our Agile Development team. We don’t expect you to be an IT expert yet, but a fundamental understanding of how things work is really important, as well as an inquisitive attitude and clear motivation to build on your technical knowledge and develop your skills.
What will you be building?
The team look after the build and maintenance of our 20 fashion and homeware brand high traffic websites as well as supporting key business projects and innovations. Led by a Technical Architect, our Software Developers manage the smooth running of the systems at our fulfilment centre and contact centre. They are also involved in the integration of cutting edge technology into our Financial Services division, so your work will not only impact and improve the experience of our customers, but our colleagues too.
-Using agile delivery methods and working within small teams, you will be delivering new functionality using Java related technologies under the guidance of a Technical Lead
-Contributing towards all phases of the development lifecycle as part of an Agile delivery team
-Attending training to enable you to learn to write well designed, fully testable and efficient code for our websites and internal systems
-Working with the DevOps team to prepare and produce releases of software components
You’ll need to have:
These roles will suit recent graduates in Computer Science or any other IT related discipline but we are also open to applications from Junior Software Developers with equivalent experience, candidates who have completed a software development apprenticeship and individuals with excellent A'Level passes and a real passion to work in a technical IT role. You should be able to display a good understanding of the software development lifecycle, and specifically Java technology. Any experience gained from personal software development projects outside of your University degree or current job is also advantageous.
You’ll work within a digital centre of excellence, sharing ideas with teams of Designers and Testers. Our in-house Development team is small but growing fast, so you’ll be contributing to a variety of projects and your ideas will be genuinely valued.
