N Brown is undergoing a significant transformation programme to become a leading digital fashion retailer. We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Technical Project Lead to join our IT Innovation team, working within a dedicated digital centre of excellence. This is a unique opportunity to expand your career in a fast moving online retail business, developing your technical and commercial knowledge through exposure to crucial projects across all business areas.
What will I do as Technical Project Lead/Junior Project Manager:
We’ve delivered an iphone Shopping App for Simply Be in an outstanding 8 weeks and then followed up with iPad and Android releases 4 weeks later. This is an amazing feat and unheard of for even the most agile of companies. Since then we’ve continued to develop the Mobile App road map optimising the experience and adding features such as Native Login. It’s getting some fantastic reviews in the App Store so we’ve got a very busy Mobile App road map planned for this year.
Last year we held an Innovation Incubator programme where we partnered with a company who helps businesses to solve their problems by matching them to innovative start-ups. We held a Challenge Definition Day with the Board and identified the top opportunities for the business. We then set them as a challenge to the start-up community. We had an outstanding response with 66 companies applying from all across the world. We created a short list of 22 companies who pitched their ideas to sponsors from across the business, Dragons Den style. 7 companies were then invited to take full part in our 10 week programme to refine and extend their solutions in close partnership with our business mentors. This covered innovative ideas such as Virtual Changing Rooms, Style Advisors, Social Crawlers and Credit Solutions.
