Graduate Trainee Developer – Java, HTML5 & Mobile

You’ll use your technical skills in Java and HTML5 to develop cutting edge solutions to benefit our colleagues and customers. You’ll use key development principles including Object Oriented Development, Unit Test, Mocking and TDD. You’ll use your problem solving skills to support business facing projects to ensure solutions meet business needs. With guidance and coaching, you’ll learn to design and implement business applications, produce system and user documentation, test, debug and document software to help produce minimum viable products for further scaling.

What you’ll need to succeed:

We’re looking for a talented Graduate with a minimum 2:2 degree in an IT related discipline. It’s essential that you have some university or work based experience developing websites in an object-oriented language such as Java and ideally you’ll also have some experience developing in HTML, JavaScript, Jquery, CSS and SQL. Experience of working with Mobile and Cloud technologies is desirable.

You should have a passion for user experience. You’ll also need excellent written and verbal communication skills as this role will involve regular interaction with teams across the business.

Once you’ve learned the basics, you’ll be assigned to varied projects so a flexible approach and exceptional time management skills are essential. You’ll need to be comfortable managing a varied workload to deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
