We have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven People Project Manager, to join our dedicated People team at N Brown, which is the home of a trusted family of brands including JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacamo. Based in the Northern Quarter in the heart of Manchester, our vision is to become the universally loved experts in fashion that fits by helping our customers` look and feel amazing.

We are continually focused on providing a world class people service to our 2600 colleagues and we now require a Project Manager to help us deliver our programme of activities. Whilst we continually strive to improve our digital offering, we also aim to improve our talent, reward and engagement strategies.

To be successful in this role you will not only need the relevant HR/People Project Management experience but you will need to be adaptable, resilient and able to demonstrate the credibility and the gravitas needed to succeed in a fast moving and customer-focused commercial environment.


The role:

  • Design and implement the people project plan ensuring key milestones, goals and metrics are identified and delivered, whilst collaborating with the stakeholders and internal customers
  • Working alongside and engaging with a range of stakeholders including HR Director, People Service Manager, People Leads, Talent, Reward, Communication and Engagement teams as well as functional experts across Finance, IT, Procurement and the wider Business
  • Manage all aspects of the project, including project planning, execution, timing, quality, cost and early identification of potential issues and risks ensuring stakeholders are kept informed
  • Applying structured change management approach and methodologies, supporting the business move to the new ways of working seamlessly 
  • Provides additional support to the People Team with all colleagues initiatives and coordinating the people plans across the various business units and sites.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of people systems and practices and ensuring all new legislation implication is considered, i.e. FCA, GDPR
  • Working with procurement and project leads to understand the market and manage feasibility studies into HR system solutions

The experience and skills you will need:

  • Project management experience with clear understanding of project management methodology
  • A blend of best practice HR knowledge underpinned by project management disciplines.
  • Experience working in an FCA environment preferred but not essential 
  • Experience of HR software project implementation
  • Strong stakeholder management, budget management and an understanding of procurement processes.
  • Self-driven and confident
  • Organised and planned in approach
  • Ability to communicate, influence and develop strong working relationships at all levels
