To help us deliver this proposition we are looking for a motivated, experienced and innovative Online Merchandising Manager for our department store brands JD Williams and Fashion World. As our Online Merchandising Manager you will manage the online product experience including launching new phases of products, manage product sequencing strategies and techniques, ensure the product experience effectively reflects the commercial goals of the online store.

 

Additional key accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Develop an approach and give focus to online ‘searchandising’, maximising the accuracy and commerciality of the search results across JD Williams and Fashion World
  • Develop and maintain relationships as well as work closely with the Buying & Merchandising teams to plan product promotions, develop new categories, respond to B&M requirements and objectives and report results
  • Work with the rest of the Department Store teams to manage the promotional plan for product related activity, maximising the product opportunity at the right time and feeding into all campaigns and plans across all channels
  • Develop and manage strategies to improve average order value and conversion including tactics for upsell and cross-sell and product recommendations
  • Develop and manage different product and promotional approaches across each brand using data to drive decision-making and looking at what customers are searching for and responding to changing customer requirements.
  • Use data on product performance on-site to drive decisions on how to push and manage product online including category and product bounce rate, conversion rate, etc
  • Work with the wider eCommerce team to test and work with new software to help us deliver against our commercial goals

 

What the successful Online Merchandising Manager‚Äč will need to succeed:

 

  • An understanding of the importance of product and visual merchandising, online customer experience,
  • A passion for customer focus, product and online selling
  • High level of commercial acumen with a retailing focus
  • Previous experience within a similar role and sector
  • Digitally literate with strength in user experience and personalisation via multiples devices, with a focus on mobile
  • An excellent understanding of all aspects of Marketing and eCommerce as well as a good understanding of Buying & Merchandising processes
  • Experienced of leading digital and ecommerce teams with clear results focus and is excited by change and innovation
  • High level of passion and enthusiasm in communications across a variety of media
  • Positive and enthusiastic leader with high energy who can work collaboratively and develop teams
  • A stronger leader and influencer with the ability to develop a team and build relationships with key stakeholders
