N Brown Group is driving the growth of our power brands (Simply Be, Jacamo and JD Williams) to build a better online business to exceed the needs our customer and repositioning our digital standpoint by disrupting the landscape of how N Brown does online retail. Due to these ambitious growth plans we are now looking for a UI Designer to join us. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone to enhance their design skills, build a career in a fast-moving digital environment and help shape the future of online shopping.


As our skilled and passionate UI designer, you will be joining our Digital Customer Experience team where you will work collaboratively with UX Designers, Java Developers, Business Analysts, Testers and Product Managers to deliver large scale interface design projects for our eCommerce applications and systems.



What you’ll be responsible for as our UI Designer:

  • Produce high-quality user interfaces and visual designs from concept to execution for web and mobile devices.
  • Collaborate closely with other business stakeholders
  • Actively collect and use design feedback to improve designs and the design process.
  • Partake and employ end-user research and testing.
  • Pushing your creative limits, challenging established thinking, be an advocate for our users and discover new ways of approaching a problem
  • Proactively suggesting and highlighting any design improvements that could be made to our websites



What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Experience within a similar role working within a digital UI/UX environment, ideally within ecommerce
  • Extensive experience of designing for the web, especially mobile
  • Excellent visual design, typography, layout, colour sensibilities and skills along with enough flexibility to adapt to our branding
  • Broad experience in a digital environment with exposure to agile
  • Proficiency with Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop and other industry standard design tools
  • Working knowledge of responsive design, HTML5 and CSS3
  • An eye for detail and consistency
  • A true collaborator and good teammate, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of user centered design principles
