A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced QA Technologist with expertise in furniture, to work as part of our successful product team. Based in the heart of Manchester, the role will involve developing products to meet our customer expectations around quality, value and service



Key responsibilities will include:


-Work in line with the QA strategy to constantly improve the quality and value of products

-Engage with QA Manager and their teams as well as the wider product team both internal and external to drive the Quality Initiatives forward

-Work collaboratively with buyers to build and develop the range plan to deliver the right quality of product at the right time for the customer

-Maintain and improve Quality Standards in line with customer expectation, competitors and internal guidelines

-Analyse, understand and act upon customer feedback and returns metrics

-Providing knowledgeable support in relation to legal, environmental, ethical, and safety standards to at least UK minimum industry standards

-Research and benchmark new Technical Innovations, Sizing data etc.

-Provide Product Technical expertise to support the wider product team including Design, Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Stores

-Specify, review and action Product Test requirements

-Evaluate Supplier and Service Providers Performance in skill abilities and lead times and quality of product achieved to action any issues and recommend improvements

-Monitor and maintain all product information on Critical Path and data

-Reduce returns rates due to improved quality, value and customer perception with less quality issues at source, reduced defects and reduced non-compliance


What you’ll need to succeed as a QA Technologist:


A technical product degree or industry equivalent qualification and technical expertise in furniture product is essential. We’re looking for an expert in product construction with in depth knowledge of product testing and standards and a strong understanding of current trends and quality standards on product construction and innovation.


Experienced in using CAD software is essential in order to drive design and development of new product lines using a direct sourcing approach (FE and Eastern Europe)


As a strong communicator and natural team player, you’ll possess the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders across the business and display a decisive approach to problem solving. You will be confident communicating with suppliers on a detailed technical basis, setting specifications and dealing with complex technical queries. You’ll be comfortable working towards tight deadlines, managing and prioritising a varied workload.


You’ll have excellent IT skills, particularly on MS Excel, and an analytical approach allowing you to input and use departmental data to assist with supplier reviews and performance management.
