Whilst the world, in particular technology, has changed beyond all recognition since N Brown started trading over 150 years ago, what has kept us relevant and positioned us as #2 on Prolific North’s Top 100 e-Commerce companies, is our ability to reinvent and transform ourselves, adapting and predicting our customers preferences and evolving the vibrant and dynamic people first culture we have today. Our vision is simple – to become the globally loved experts in fashion that fits, helping customers look and feel amazing! – Something that is synonymous with our brands, JD Williams, Jacamo and Simply Be.

With retail continuing to be one of the most disrupted industries through the rise of mobile devices, IoT and changing shopping habits, where better to expand your career and test your innovation than as part of a company that has a proven heritage of transformation spanning across three different centuries!

We are looking for UX Designers to join our join journey and to help shape our customer’s digital experience!

We are looking for 3 exceptional designers to join a newly created UX team. One of the roles will be filled by a senior UX professional with a varied portfolio. The remaining roles will be filled by UX designers with  experience, who are looking to take the next step in their career.

What will you be doing as UX Designer?

  • Work collaboratively with Research/Product/UI Design/IT to shape our core product by sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products.
  • Produce lo-fi wireframes, hand sketched page flows and prototypes which show a coherent, well thought out design solution.
  • Utilise user research and customer experience management tools to understand effective solutions and better inform design decisions.
  • Ensure your solution is customer led, is validated with customers and is insight driven.

What you need to be successful?

  • Experience in UX design, preferably in ecommerce, with a portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating user-centred design solutions.
  • Ability to interrogate a variety of sources when faced with a problem, always looking for answers beyond the obvious.
  • Ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations and experience design.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical and detailed information to a non-technical audience in a simple and straightforward manner.
  • Excellent visual design sensibilities and skills.
  • Proficiency in Sketch and experience of a variety of design tools, with a broad understanding of the technology landscape, including new and emerging technologies that will influence UX design.
  • Understanding of mobile first, responsive design.
  • A true collaborator and good teammate with a positive and supportive approach, able to work independently and as part of a team.

In return for your hard-work and commitment, you’ll receive fantastic training as well exciting development opportunities and a competitive salary and benefits package.
