We are looking for Collections Strategy Manager to join our Financial Services Team. Reporting to the Head of Financial Services Operations, you will be responsible for managing and optimising the recoveries strategy, aiming to reduce bad debt losses and minimise operational cost.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a strong ethos of continual improvement and seek to optimise the recoveries strategy by identifying improvements and implementing change
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders across the business, including Senior Management, Operations, Compliance, Credit Risk, Finance, External Debt
  • Lead and develop the team of analysts with varying levels of experience, providing the overall vision for future strategy development and  oversight of key strategic proposals
  • Explore opportunities and build relationships with external suppliers to help drive innovation and deliver improved business outcomes
  • Monitor and improve the quality of output from the team and promote good governance via documentation and recording of strategy changes, as well as ensuring relevant stakeholders are kept informed
  • Ensure customer journey is put at the heart of our recoveries processes
  • Use data mining techniques (predictive modelling), profitability analysis and champion/challenger testing to refine and optimise credit and recovery processes
  • Conduct and oversee in-depth analysis of key trends within the credit customer portfolio, utilising this insight to make business decisions and provide clear information to senior management
  • Proactively manage the Payment Arrangement debtor book optimising:
    • Processes used to identify and administer solutions for customers in financial difficulty
    • Customer rehabilitation strategy
  • Ensure that appropriate and fit-for-purpose reporting is in place to monitor arrears performance

Desired Skills:

  • Leadership/Management
  • SQL/Excel/SAS
  • Data mining/predictive modelling
  • Credit risk experience
  • New system implementation (ideally)
