N Brown are now recruiting for a Packaging and Compliance Technician to report into our Senior Packaging Technologist. This role will offer the opportunity to work accross all of our sites including Griffin House (Northern Quarter) and our Logistics sites in Shaw ( Oldham) and Hadfield ( Glossop). The Packaging and Compliance Technician will work to be compliant, monitor and review all processes and procedures that involve the delivery/picking/packing/despatching/refurb and return of products to the customer.

You will also ensure durability of transit packaging, product packaging and labelling to protect the product, and to ensure the most efficient, effective methods are optimised and non-compliance is managed in the correct way.

 

What you’ll be responsible for as a Packaging and Compliance Technician:

  • To review how all prime, refurbed and returned products are packaged and assess the quality of packaging, and identify opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements
  • Assess and review products that are packaged inside the shipping carton to identify if box fill can be increased by optimising the way that the internal items are packaged
  • To be involved in relevant projects within Packaging to assist in identifying & implementing cost and quality benefits to the department and wider business
  • To work closely with the warehouse team to challenge, manage and coordinate Supplier non-compliance through FDR’s, unplanned refurb and any other non-compliance data.
  • To analyse the incorrect weights and dimensions report and drive improvements to the accuracy of the data that has been input into the mainframe system to ensure products are despatched via the correct carriage stream
  • To keep up to date with marketing trends and innovations in line with QA digital strategy as well as benchmarking against competitors
  • Keep up to date with f Packaging and Labelling compliance for UK/EU/International and Partnerships
  • To specify new or existing Packaging and Labelling requirements creating a detailed Packaging and Labelling Specification with clear recommendations on materials, components, finished product and packaging and Labelling across Quality, Ethical, Environmental and Legal dimensions

 

What you will need to succeed:

You will need to commit to traveling accross all of our sites in Manchester/ Shaw and Hadfield. 

  • Packaging design and Packaging Construction knowledge
  • Knowledge of Packaging testing and standards
  • Knowledge of Packaging and Labelling Compliance and Legislation for UK/EU and International.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good appreciation of Design innovation.
  • IT skills – competent understanding of IT systems.
  • ‘Can-Do’ approach and flexible to a changing environment
  • Highly organised and self-motivated
  • Excellent Time Management
  • Influence and build relationships with key stakeholders
